Why do African-Americans vote Democrat in such large numbers?

Since the 1960s, African Americans have been voting predominantly for the Democratic Party. Why do they continue to vote Democrat?Why do African-Americans vote Democrat in such large numbers?

Because since the 60s, the Republican party has built itself by demonizing African Americans and scaring White suburbanites into thinking the ';dark people'; are going to harm them. They fought against the civil rights movement. They've portrayed blacks as criminals and welfare cheats. They've called Martin Luther King a communist. They became the home of segregationists like Strom Thurmon. They've run ';Willie Horton'; ads designed to scare white folks. All this while Democrats opened their party to them and stood up for the issues which concern them.
The same reason why a majority of white peoples only vote republicans . Let's be honest you and i know the republicans doesn't welcome minorities ,gays , pro lifer's etc under their tent . They have alienated themselves from anyone who isn't a law abiding god fearing White American . But that is not good enough any more to win the presidency or a majority in this county .
I'm middle aged now but back when I was young if you were poor or a minority, you were a democrat. Republicans were the choice of big business and wealthy people. Look at GW - he was totally clueless to real life because he had been raised so wealthy. I wonder if it's still the same reasons or if people have come up with new ones or people just follow in their parent's footsteps. Very good question.
Because the majority of them are not capable of studying facts and polls and would rather listen to people like Jessie Jackson and al Sharpton rather than researching the facts for themselves. The video below is a prime example of this.
Why should we vote for some old, rich ,fart, who we know don't give a *** what we think.Besides, I am against the Iraq war, I am for abortions if that is what the woman wants and they can take their good ole family values and shove em.
Maybe because the Civil Rights Act was passed by Lyndon Johnson, a Democrat, which resulted in a bunch of racist bigots jumping over to the GOP and voting another bigot, Richard M. Nixon, into office several years later?

They enjoy being enslaved I guess. I never thought people would vote for their own enslavement. Its mind boggling. When you depend on something for survival. It winds up enslaving you.
Same thing for the Hispanics %26amp; Middle Eastern. Retired General Powell he was Republican %26amp; regrets being that party.
Because Republicans help themselves; Democrats help people that need help.
DNC bought and paid for their votes by increasing entitlement payments every year.
Because they're more intelligent than the Republicans.
