What do the numbers mean on the bottom of milk cartons?`?

i am talkin about the faint imprint located on the base. the numbers range from 1-4. i have noticed that they do taste different depending on what number it is. does this mean one has more sugar in it, or more flavouring? might only be on australian milks, not too sure about internationalWhat do the numbers mean on the bottom of milk cartons?`?
I only know the numbers at the bottom of the plastic bottles states the quality of the bottles . 1 %26amp; 2 is make of weaker material and not be to reuse and 3 on wards are suitable.What do the numbers mean on the bottom of milk cartons?`?
Well I heard that on Farmer's Union Iced Coffee the lower the number the stronger the coffee/flavour is... but I think it's probably something to do with the cartons or something, I doubt it means anything significant.
Yes, as the other person said, it refers to the packaging, not the milk inside. It refers to the grade of plastic.
