What do the numbers in 100/80/17 for a motorbike tyre mean.?

I am a amateur biker from india. I have found bike tyre descriptions as 110/80 or 100/90 with a 17 or 18 appended to them. google searches have only thrown up more keywords like tread width etc... I understand 17/18 is the diameter of the tyre. what do the rest mean(As simple an explanation possible please)

Thank youWhat do the numbers in 100/80/17 for a motorbike tyre mean.?
100mm wide, 80% of that in height, 17'; rim.What do the numbers in 100/80/17 for a motorbike tyre mean.?
the first number is width in metric

the second number is percentage of height in correlation with width

the third number is the rim size in inches
The 100 is the tread width

80 is aspect ratio, the from the bead (rim line) to the top of tread is 80%

17 is the wheel size in inches
The first # is how wide the tire is.

The second # is how tall the tire is from the rim to the tread.
100 = width of tyre from edge to edge

80 = height of tyre from from top of bead to edge of tread

17 = rim size
