    The avenues and Broadway are numbered sequentially starting at the southernmost point on the avenue starting at 1.     Going East/West the numbers start at 5th Avenue. So going East from 5th Avenue the numbers will get higher and going west they will get higher. In this way you can find 125 East 77th Street as well as 125 West 77th Street.





    Going North/South - the numbers start at the southernmost end of the Avenue (because that is where the city started!) and then get higher from there. So 21 Broadway will be all the way downtown and 1775 Broadway is at 57th Street.





    You do occassionaly find fractional numbers on some of the side streets. I've seen that in some townhouses that have two doors to the same building.

    My daughter just turned 2 and she can count to 15 and she knows some of her ABC's (she can't sing them but she recognizes them from an ABC puzzle). I just picked up a deck of cards that tells the story of the woman who swallows a fly....then a bird....then a cat, etc. Anyway, I read the cards to her and the animals are pictures in the sentence so I stop reading at the animal and she'll name it. I'm so excited! One step closer to reading! That might help your son, too. :)





    If there is a teacher store in your area, you can stop in and pick up preschool or pre-K reading activities. Just remember that most Kindergardeners can't read....and if your son goes to school already knowing how to read he could wind up bored, start acting badly, or even worse, be used by the kindergarden teacher to help pull the other kids up to his level (which will make the other kids hate him).     That's great! Now what can he do with that info. Can he apply it to other situations and use it out of context. Does he recognize this out of the academic setting?
    You teach him the sounds of each of the letters and then you might tell him or teach him to combine them together and you can read.

    well you just gotta be a little strict or nothin will happen
    I don't have children of my own, but I work with them every day. When they are about 4 they should be able to recognize most if not all their letters. Sounds can come earlier if you start phonics, but phonics doesn't work for every child. When they are five they should be able to remember most letter sounds if you at least work a little with them. Most don't even know how to read when they go into kindergarten.
    My son is 3. He seems far more advanced than my other two sons were at his age.





    He was off the bottle at 8 months, potty trained at 18 months and knew his alphabet by 2 years. I elected to put him in an academic setting because before he turned 3, he already knew the entire alphabet (at random), upper AND lower case. He knows the sounds that they make (including vowels). He can count to 20. He knows all of his body parts. Last Xmas, he put together a puzzle of the United States with NO PROBLEM. I even watched him do it a few times.





    He also likes playing learning games on the computer.





    I read to him slowly and have him repeat me...that seems to be working. We read some of the same books over and over again. I've already noticed that he recognizes some of the words - that or he's memorized them which is equally impressive at this age!

Without adequate insulin, the body breaks down fat cells for energy, flooding the bloodstream with metabolic by-products called ketoacids. Meanwhile, the kidneys begin filtering large amounts of glucose from the blood and producing large amounts of urine. As the person urinates more frequently, the body becomes dehydrated and loses important minerals called electrolytes. If not treated, these serious imbalances can eventually lead to coma and death.





    Hyperosmolar hyperglycemic state most commonly affects elderly people. Like DKA, HHS starts with high blood glucose and insulin deficiency and causes people to urinate frequently and become dehydrated. HHS also impairs the ability of the kidneys to filter glucose from the bloodstream, making the blood glucose level rise even higher. Because of the extreme dehydration, HHS can be life-threatening, with a mortality rate of 15%, and can be even more difficult to treat successfully than DKA.





    Both conditions can occur in anyone who has diabetes. They may be triggered by insulin deficiency or by any major stress to the body, which can cause the counterregulatory hormones to surge and elevate blood sugar levels. The most common trigger for either condition is an infection such as strep throat, pneumonia, a foot ulcer, intestinal flu, or a urinary tract infection.





    The best way to prevent DKA or HHS is to prevent high blood glucose in the first place. Since they most commonly occur during an illness, work out ';sick-day management'; rules with your health-care provider before you become ill. Be alert to signs and symptoms of very high blood glucose (including thirst, increased appetite, frequent urination, and weight loss) as well as symptoms of dehydration (such as dryness of the mouth, cracked lips, sunken eyes, weight loss, and dry skin). In severe cases, you may experience vomiting, weakness, and confusion. People with DKA may experience abdominal pain and note a ';fruity'; odor to the breath due to the presence of ketones.





    If you experience these symptoms, seek medical help immediately. Both DKA and HHS warrant a trip to the emergency room so that all facets of your blood chemistry can be carefully monitored and treated.





    Severe hypoglycemia can lead to coma by starving the brain of its primary source of energy, glucose. Hypoglycemia can result from too much insulin, a decrease or delay in food intake, or an increase in physical activity. Typical symptoms of mild hypoglycemia include tremors, sweating, heart palpitations, and hunger. When hypoglycemia becomes more severe, brain function may be affected, causing such symptoms as mood changes, confusion, irritability, and drowsiness. Individuals may eventually lapse into coma or convulsions.





    People who use insulin or an oral diabetes medicine that can cause hypoglycemia should always carry some form of shelf-stable carbohydrate such as LifeSaver candies, juice boxes, or glucose gel or tablets just in case. If you are unwilling or unable to take anything by mouth, they should inject glucagon or call 911.

    To find 15% of 160, you multiply .15 by 160, so you basically put a decimal after two digits from the right of the percent. It equals 24.


    .90 times 210 equals 189


    1.10 times 210 equals 231

    15% is 15/100 so 15/100 * 160 = 24


    90/100 * 210 = 189

    first find 10% which is easy to do...


    160 divided by 10 = 16 (just move the whole number 1 decimal place to the right)

    Another way of working it out....


    In maths 'Of' means the exat same as 'times'


    so 175% of 36 can be swapped as 175% x 36


    175% as a decimal is 1.75 (100% = 1 whole and 75%=0.75)


    so 1.75 x 36 can also give you the answer (a calculator is proberbly needed)


    1.75 x 36 = 63


    175% of 36 = 63

    I need to create a lot of other worksheets for individual machines that list each part number that is on that machine, along with the price. Is there anyway to get the worksheet to read the price off the master sheet without having to retype all the prices? Each machine has a different variety of parts so I've been having trouble trying to figure out how it can only pull certain prices for certain parts off the master sheet. Help in excel.     let's say in your master sheet you have Part # and Price in A1 %26amp; B1


    and more below it (A2/B2, A3/B3, etc down to A100/B100)





    we'll call this sheet ';Master';


    in another sheet in Cell A1 you have a part # entered. And you want to view the price in B1 from the Master sheet. In B1 enter





    =VLOOKUP(A1, MASTER!$A$1:$B$100, 2, FALSE)


    this will look up A1 and try to find a match in your master sheet. If there's a match, it will return the info from the 2nd column (the price).





    the ';false'; at the end just tells excel to find an exact match. If no match is found you'll get an error value instead.





    the basic syntax of the vlookup is


    VLOOKUP(criteria you want to find, where you want to find it, column of data you want returned).





    the $ signs in the range $A$1, etc just tell excel not to change those cell references (ie lock them down) as you copy/paste the formula.

    It depends on the definition of prime and composite.





    If you define composite as not prime, then all numbers will be one or the other.





    If you define composite as having at least two prime factors, then there are numbers like 1 and 0 which are neither prime nor composite. (Some people will incorrectly say that 1 is prime. It's not true.)Why are some numbers not prime nor composite?
    It's all about definition. Zero and One are unique numbers in that they can be proven mathematically not to fall into either category.





    Prime: a number that only has two integer factors, 1 and itself. One has only one as its factor, so it doesn't meet the definition. Zero can be multiplied by any integer and still be zero, so it has an infinite number of integer factors.





    Composite: These numbers have many definitions (all saying the same thing a different way), but I like the one that says that a composite number has to have at least one other integer factor besides itself.


    - this definition excludes one because itself (1) is its only factor, and


    - it excludes zero because zero is always a factor of itself (0x5, 0x100, etc.)

    Considering this another way, take the prime factorization of any composite number (say, 12 = 2 * 2 * 3). If 1 were a prime, we could also rewrite such factorizations as:

    And so on and so forth until we get:

    The Road Traffic Act (London) 1924 imposed a system of bus route numbering on all operators entering the metropolis. The actual numbering was left to the Metropolitan Police, and, in particular to Acting Chief Constable Bassom.





    The system that evolved was called the Bassom system. It was un-necessarily complicated and was offically abandoned in 1933 when the London Passenger Transport Board was formed.





    Bassom divided routes thus:


    1-199 Double deck central area routes


    201-299 Single deck central area routes

    You need to study a little basic music theory and you will see what they mean. A G5 for example is a G chord with the fifth note of the G major scale added to it. The fifth note would be D so it's a G chord with a D note added on......You might say ,theres already a D note in the Major G chord , which is true, so you will add another D note to it to make it a G5..... Am7 is an Am chord with the seventh note of the Am scale added on , and so on and so on...........Remember , if your working with a major chord then you use the major scale and the minor scale for a minor chord. It's really pretty easy to understand once you know a little basic theory.

    The number is special because we do find numerous examples of it in nature, including the patterned arrangement of seeds in a sunflower, breeding populations (Fibonacci Sequence develops the golden ratio), the proportions of physical features in people (people who have features that are extremely close to the golden ratio are usually considered more attractive, which has lead researchers to believe that there is a subconscious part of us that desires that ratio), etc...

    Unless you are going for a butch, clippers to the scalp should not be the method used to cut the top. The best barbers don't use numbers except maybe on the lower to mid back and sides. Strictly free hand or clipper/shears over comb/finger. Describe the style of haircut you would like and the approximate lengths you would like the haircut to be on the back, sides, top and front. Also describe how you want the edge of the hair around the ear arches( natural feather edge or hard outlined edge) and at the nape(tapered or blocked, and rounded off or squared), and how far you want the sideburns to extend down the ear.     Well...you have the team name followed by wins, losses, winning percentage, games behind in their divisional race, games behind in the wild card race, W-L record for the last 10 games, current streak (consecutive games won or lost), home record, road record, and with the playoff races winding down you now have the team's magic number in parentheses next to their name.


    Which one were you unsure of?
    There are many numbers on an MLB Standings chart. I will explain briefly each of these using the example below.

    First, you can see the team's name, in this case Toronto.





    Next is the team's win loss record. In this case it is 72-66, or seventy two wins and sixty two losses.





    Thirdly is a decimal number that can be changed into a percentage. For this example it is .522, or 52.2%. This is the team's winning percentage or win rate.





    Next is a stat called games back. All this means is how many games it would take for that team to win (and the division leading team to lose) in order for the team to take over 1st in the division. In this case, Toronto needs to win 17 games and whoever is leading the division has to lose the same number of games.





    Fifth is the 'elimination number'. This is a number that is how many games the team needs to lose in order to be written out of the playoffs and not be able to make it. If this number is actually a letter E, then the team has been eliminated. Toronto needs to lose 8 games to not have a chance at making the playoffs.





    Sixth is the team's 'last 10'. This is their record in their last 10 games.





    Finally is the team's 'streak'. Toronto has a streak of L1, or Lost 1. Their most recent game was lost.

    Microsoft Word 2003: Advanced Page numbering ?

    I need to number the pages and make page #4 be the first numbered page and be numbered page #1.





    I have a strong understanding of word and have only been able to accomplish having the page numbers start appearing on page #4 but word insists on putting a 4 on page 4 (i want a 1 on page 4)

    Would it help if you divided your document into sections and applied the numbering to the second section only? Otherwise, chop the document into two separate documents.Microsoft Word 2003: Advanced Page numbering ?
    You need to start a new section first.





    You can then use section page numbers and total section pages to control what is displayed.





    There are ways to control the start page number for a section (unlinking from previous - there is a toolbar for controlling page numbers). Unfortunately I'm on Word 2007 so what I have won't work for you.

    I think I understand your question so here goes. I don't know if it'll work but its worth a short. Why not try to move (what would be page 4) to the start of the document? At least then you'd know it'd be called page one.





    Alternatively, just putt in the page numbers manually as fields in the footer.





    Simple as that.
    You have to divide the paper into sections.





    I've had this problem too.... and it is irritating as all get out.
    You make the un-numbered pages a distinct section, then put headers and/or footers on the section after it, this way:





    1. At the top of the first page you want numbered, click the Insert-%26gt;Break menu item.


    2. Insert a Next Page type section break.


    3. Move the cursor down a few lines so it's in the new section you just created.


    4. Click on the View-%26gt;Headers and Footers menu item. You should now see and be able to edit the section's header.


    5. One of the icons on the Headers toolbar that pops up, probably the fifth from the right, will say ';Same as Previous'; when you hover the cursor over it. Click it to disconnect the header from the previous one.


    6. The one to its right will say ';Switch between Header and Footer'; Click it.


    7. You're now in the footer. Repeat step 5.


    8. A third icon, probably the one to the right of the Switch one, will say ';Move to Previous'; Click it. You've now moved to the footer of the first section.


    9. If there's a page number in the header or footer for this section, delete it.


    10. Close the toolbar.


    11. Go into the second section.


    12. Click on the Insert-%26gt;Page Numbers menu item.


    13. Click on the Format button.


    14. Since you want the page numbering to start at one, click Start At. A 1 should show up in the list box adjacent to it.


    15. Click OK.


    16. Click OK to actually insert the page number.
